OECD: Digital Trust & Democracy in the Era of Generative AI

Future of democracy in digital age was the main topic of AI and Platform Governance mini-symposium filled with leading experts in AI governance, digital security and policy-making that took place on March 28th.

We participated in a deep-dive roundtable for The Digital Trust Convention. The objective was formulating elements of a positive, concrete and just about achievable vision for a resilient and trust-friendly digital space in 2035, i.e. one decade from now.

Such a vision should captivate and mobilise stakeholders, and should be inspired not just by a list of problems but also the joy of imagining and shaping a desirable collective future.

Jakub Szymik answered the question of What structures and mechanisms can incentivise constructive digital discourse on a broad scale in 2035, and how can this re-energise democracy? and shared the stage with Kai Zenner (Head of Office and Digital Policy Adviser for MEP Axel Voss), Marta Bieńkiewicz (Policy and Partnerships Manager at Cooperative AI Foundation), Isabel Barberá (AI Privacy Expert at Council of Europe) and Eliza Gkritsi (Tech Reporter at Politico).
