🇭🇺 Between Two Elections

The Center for Independent Journalism (CIJ), Budapest has released a new publication examining Russian disinformation during the 2025-2026 election periods in Poland and Hungary. The volume brings together papers from Polish and Hungarian experts who participated in a workshop exploring the growing impact of Russian information operations in both countries and across Europe.

“We cannot emphasize enough times that without truth, objective facts and shared reality there is no democracy” noted Erik Uszkiewicz in his opening remarks. “And at the same time we also all know that our societies, democracies, electoral processes and information ecosystem are under constant attack.” Konrad Kiljan contributed a chapter analysing digital transformation’s impact on the rise of anti-Westernism in Polish political discourse.
