Together with Democracy Reporting International (DRI), the European Partnership for Democracy (EPD), and GLOBSEC, we participated in public consultations on Article 50 of the EU AI Act. The Article requires providers and deployers to inform users when they are interacting with an AI system. While straightforward in principle, this requirement raises important practical questions about implementation, enforcement, and effective disclosure methods. Our experts emphasized the need for clear and effective practices for labeling AI-generated or manipulated content and highlighted the importance of precise deepfake definitions that will support effective legal action.
We look forward to the enhanced version of the implementation guidelines and thank all partner organizations for their cooperation in this important consultation process.
