Our Participation in AI20: Artificial Intelligence in the Global Context

Issues related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a hot topic of global discussion. The IA20: Artificial Intelligence in the Global Context event, which occurred in the context of the G20 summit in Brazil, provided a crucial platform to debate the challenges and opportunities of AI in various sectors, including industrial, governmental, and scientific.

In partnership with the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG) and the German Center for Science and Innovation São Paulo (DWIH São Paulo), the event featured experts from Brazil and abroad. These specialists were divided into three panels and participated in a roundtable discussion throughout the day in Rio de Janeiro.

The event included three focused panels that explored the impact of AI in industry, governance, and scientific research. These panels provided a comprehensive overview of the current state and future prospects of AI in these fields. Participants gained insights from leading AI experts from Brazil and around the world, who shared the latest developments and trends in AI technology, policy, and application. We also engaged with new perspectives shared by representatives of global AI developers, such as Meta and OpenAI.

Our representatives contributed to this event and engaged in workshop discussions about the risks of the sandbox applications of the AI, including how they might lead to backsliding in already existing, democratically agreed national and global standards.
