🇨🇦 Digital Trust Convention in Montreal

Over two days at the Digital Trust Convention in Montreal, researchers, technologists, policymakers, standardisers, industry experts, journalists, and philosophers gathered at Mila – Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute to explore how we can “upgrade” our digital environment towards a courageous, positive, even joyful digital future for shared humanity.

Jakub Szymik spoke during the session “Digital space under threat: the symptoms,” alongside experts such as Mahsa Alimardani from Witness, Amelia Hassoun from Darwin College, University of Cambridge and Jens Longe from Joint Research Centre at European Commission.

Discussions highlighted the societal challenges posed by AI bots and misinformation, emphasizing that trust must be designed into the digital fabric from the start.

The conference also began drafting a “Montreal Manifesto” to capture this vision.
